Riverbed: from Berkeley coffee shop to huge SoMa lease | Bay Area News

Riverbed has come a long way since its early days operating out of a Peet’s coffee shop near the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. On Monday the 8-year-old technology company announced that it had signed a 167,788 square foot lease at 680 Folsom St., a deal that will kick off the renovation and expansion of that property. After a press conference with Mayor Ed Lee, Riverbed CEO Jerry Kennelly told the Business Times that he picked 680 Folsom for its location and design.
